Thoughts: Be Calm…

Dear Kiddo,

There aren’t too many words of wisdom that haven’t been said/shared or stated till date and there are only a limited number of ways you can put forth an idea. Thus I won’t be “that guy”.

Just remember, there will be times when you end up backs to the wall, standing (apparently) alone cause you do not have the necessary support you thought you need or are looking for.

Keeping this in mind, I came up with a few things I thought would help ‘guide’ you.

“Be”…..Be all you can and all you want to be….but more importantly:

There will be bad days…..Be calm.

Let go! Sometimes things aren’t meant for you, but there is always a bigger picture….Be confident.

Accept each extended hand offered, this will pull you back from the somewhere you cannot escape or somewhere you don’t want to be…..Be gracious.

Scrape the gray skies clean. Realize every dark cloud has a silver lining for (the lining) is nothing but a smoke screen meant to blind you from the truth, which is the light…. Be diligent.

Fight your instinct at times and say how you feel. No fear, no guilt, no remorse nor any complexity…Be forthright.

Most people won’t get you, or what you stand for, but you can’t give up….Be lucid in your explanation, be authentic in your oppose.

You are always the underdog, the best ones are those who always fight the odds, hold yourself to the steady…Be ready.

Life is going to come at you fortified with a rock and a hard place and even tougher choices, your only weapon is your voice, your thoughts ammunition…Be aware.

Don’t hold on to hate. Living with the burden of anger, is not living. Love and hate are beasts and the one that grows is the one you feed….Be forgiving.

Be the grass that grows through the cracks, its beautiful, because it doesn’t know it’s not supposed to grow there…Be persistent.

Affirm your truth in a way that envisions the resolve with which you accept it…. Be resolute.

Smile a lot, for a simple smile could be the support that someone has been looking for….Be considerate.

Every nightmare has a beginning, but every bad day has an end…Be patient.

Silence breed’s silence and silence never got us ahead. So speak and be heard and if you find that no one is listening…Be loud.

Finally, don’t forget.

Be calm – Loosen your grip, close your eyes, hear the sounds of your surrounding, feel the wind kiss your skin and the heat from within – let go

Calmness is the cradle of power.”
